マールの事 About Marl

After being discharged from the vet, her breathing weakened even though she’s not coughing. It’s like she’s not taking in enough oxygen, so I prepared an oxygen mask. She’s not touching any water or food. I prepared some medicine, but I have my reservations about forcing her to take it, so I’ve decided to just watch over her like this.

I decided that if she started having seizures due to uremia, I’d put her out of her misery.
Her breathing’s getting weaker and weaker, but when she wanted to pee, she hollered over to me like, “Hey, I want to go potty!” I supported her over the potty pad and she went fine.

Then 41 hours after leaving the vet, she passed away quietly, without any seizures.

Marl, who had had a bad heart from day one of entering my care, and who had always been on medicine.
Mitral insufficiency, trachea collapse, chronic bronchitis, sinusitis—her medicine piled on quick, but she was a good girl and took all of it.

She got pulmonary edema and was in a dangerous place, but she came back home well.

Some kids were stubborn and fought me when I tried to take them to the vet, you know?

Marl hated cameras and always looked away as soon as you angled one at her.
This is a special one where I got her line of sight.

This is my album of the kids I took in in 2007.
All of them have gone to heaven, except for Chaco.

How old was she when I took her in? I thought she was up there in age because her teeth were riddled with plaque and holes, but she may have been surprisingly young.

After 7 months in my care, she grew back a nice white coat, and finally started looking like the Maltese she is.

Mommy’s cute little Marl. It’s hard to look at that baby bed without you in it.

Let me cry just a bit more. I love you. Thank you.
